Composer, singer, and songwriter Siddhartha Khosla joins us to talk about his musical upbringing, his multiculturalism, his first forays into music, and his evolution into writing for NBC’s hit show This Is Us. This session is moderated by ASA President David Das.

About Siddhartha Khosla

Siddhartha Khosla’s current scores include Golden Globe nominated NBC hit drama “This Is Us,” (Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Sterling K. Brown,Dan Fogelman EP), Lionsgate TV drama “The Royals,” (Elizabeth Hurley, Mark Schwahn EP), and Marvel drama “Runaways” on Hulu (Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage EPs). Khosla scored feature films drama “Liv” (2017) with Teddy Sears and Catherine Eaton, and comedy “Fat Camp” (2017). Khosla also recently composed original songs for Academy Award winner Brie Larson and Donald Sutherland musical film “Basmati Blues.” Khosla previously composed the original score for network comedies “Grandfathered” (FOX) and “The Neighbors” (ABC).

Forged from the creative mind of Khosla and first discovered on KCRW’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic,” — arguably the most influential radio station in the country — Goldspot’s ear-pleasing and catchy sound has been described by LA Times Magazine as “A hint of George Harrison at his transcendental best” , by NPR as “An inventive sound and independent vision.” In 2013, his album Aerogramme topped Los Angeles Times Pop Music Editor’s year end best albums list, earning the title of “#1 Album of the Year.” His hit single “Friday” reached #10 in the UK radio charts, with album “Tally of the Yes Men” reaching #11 in the Alternative charts. Goldspot has released three studio albums (Mercury UK/Universal Records, Mt. Hoboken Records, and SONY India) and Khosla’s songs have been featured on numerous TV shows (‘How I Met Your Mother’, ‘The OC’, ‘The Neighbors’), major brand advertising campaigns (Google, Target, Apple), and films (Today’s Special starring The Daily Show’s Aasif Mandvi).
